What Music Has Done For Me

When my depression is at an all-time high, and I am at the end of my rapidly fraying rope, it is music that pumps air into my lungs, bringing me back to life.

Not only has music ( literally ) saved my life, but music has been my biggest cheerleader at times when I desperately needed that boost of confidence, telling me my life is worth living!

I am a plus-sized woman, I’m not athletic, and I’ve always been self-conscious of how I look whenever I am dancing. Music has convinced me to just feel the rhythm, lean into it, and just be myself. To once and for all let go of all thoughts surrounding what I “should” look like whenever I am dancing and just simply dance!

Whenever I hear “Hey Look Ma, I Made It” by PATD, you can bet the house, I am dancing for that entire song! (PATD = Panic At The Disco)

And you all know how I feel about Harry Edward Styles. If Hazza comes in the radio, all bets are off. I am dancing!

What has music done for you? What songs get you going? Like that one amazing Lee Ann Womack lyric: “When you get the chance to sit out or dance, I hope you dance.”
